Photographer/Microsoft Icon of Imaging, Phil Borges joins host Scott Sheppard for his thoughts about participating in the MS Photo Summit which he explains is much more of a relaxed atmosphere than usual trade shows. Phil discusses his latest project and exhibition "Women Empowered", that he did in conjunction with the CARE organization. This is one of his first multi-media projects designed to reach a broader audience and includes video coverage and interviews. You can hear furthur details about it on Inside Digital Photo’s Special Report on the exhibition hosted by FiftyCrows.

Phil explains some anecdotes about the amazing women and people he met while working on the project including several photo essays featuring surgeons and doctors specializing in helping burn victims. Phil completely immerses himself in the environment and hardships of his subjects and discusses how much he’s learned from being able to work on these projects.

Phil also shares some information about his favorite gear and workflow including his latest experiences incorporating audio and video components to his projects.

Pulitzer Prize Winning Photographer, Deanne Fitzmaurice joins host Scott Sheppard to share her experiences as one of Microsoft’s newest "Icons of Imaging". Deanne recently left her 15+ year career as a news photojournalist most recently with the San Francisco Chronicle. She has taken the leap into freelance photography and is now focusing on more in-depth documentary projects that she hopes will impact social and environmental change. She also describes her favorite gear and workflow. In 2005, she and her husband photographer Kurt Rogers co-founded Think Tank Photo, developing their own line of camera bags and accessories.

Deanne explains her relationship with her photography subjects, including highlights of her ongoing documentary of the young Iraqi boy who won her the Pulitzer in 2005 and also a new story featuring gay marriages. Deanne also recently began collecting audio interviews along with her photo essays bringing her work into a broader level. Her passion for photography and storytelling are evident in her work.
