cevansConstance Evans, Executive Director, Advertising Photographers of America and renowned Illustrator, and Orphan Works Bill Activist Brad Holland join host Scott Sheppard to explain the recent House and Senate Bill - U.S. Orphan Works Act of 2008. Constance and Brad provide insight to the impact of these bills on artists works. Any artist or photographer should be concerned about copyright protection of their work and this proposal could significantly change the way collections are handled.

bhollandThese bills were designed to help libraries and archivists deal with obtaining access to older or archive works that may be difficult to obtain as the creator of the works are likely deceases. In the new model, the bill requires content creators to responsibly register ALL their creative work individually or risk having their work taken without credit or repurposed.
