Chuck Westfall, Director/Media & Customer Relationship, Camera Marketing Group - Canon U.S.A., Inc. joins host Scott Sheppard for an in-depth look and information on their newest line of professional digital cameras. Canon recently announced the third generation of this exciting new full-frame sensor digital SLR camera. Many of the features have been completely re-engineered at the development level and it offers many new features and improvements from the sensor, Dual “DIGIC III” Image Processor with DDR-SDRAM buffer for fine-detail and natural color reproduction with high-speed processing of very large files, 14-bit AD conversion which delivers over 16,000 shades of tonal gradation and greatly improves the noise reduction on image capture.

The Canon EOS-1Ds MARK III/Canon EOS-1D MARK III support multiple image capture formats including; RAW, sRAW (Small RAW), RAW+JPEG, sRAW+JPEG simultaneous recording. There are 5 custom white-balance settings and 6 preset settings for color temperature and personal white-balance preferences. There is also a new silent shooting mode that reduces the overall noise level of the camera.

This camera has been designed for any professional photo application including sports, wedding, portrait, fashion, and studio photography. The “live view” feature and the enhanced viewfinder makes it easy to connect the camera to an external monitor in studio for instant feedback and image correction. They also introduced the new Canon EOS 40D which is great for advanced amateurs or as a backup camera when traveling on location.

The cameras will begin shipping in November ‘07 and pricing will be set at $7,995 EOS-1Ds MARK III, $4,995 EOS-1D MARK III, and the Canon EOS 40D at $1,299.
