Andy Patrick, Founder FiftyCrows, joins host Scott Sheppard live from their San Francisco gallery to discuss details of his latest exhibition entitled "Women Empowered: Insipiring Change in the Emerging World", by Phil Borges. Selections from this documentary series will also be on exhibit at the San Francisco Airport, sharing the imagery with a broad audience. Andy explains that FiftyCrows helps documentary photographers share their work on global social, humanitarian, and political issues. FiftyCrows provides grants, resources, exhibits, and distribution of these key images to increase awareness and inspire people to take action in support of these topics and issues. Photographer Phil Borges, joins Inside Digital Photo to discuss details of his new photo series including the equipment and workflow he used to create this moving documentary series. Phil began this project in 2004, partnering with the CARE organization traveling to remote locations and showcasing extraordinary women helping themselves and inspire change within their communitites. Phil shares his background, project work, and his passion for documenting the welfare of indigenous and tribal people. Phil share some tips and techniques he uses to capture and complete his incredible images, known for their natural light and emotion highlighted through natural/sepia tones. Phil describes how he works with a range of non-profit organizations and other outlets that help him tell the stories seen in his exhibitions and books.
